It's everywhere. From your tap water to your toothpaste, fluoride is present in so many things you use every single day. Organized dentistry praises the effects of fluoride from preventing tooth decay while doctors love it for helping those with weakened bones due to osteoporosis and rheumatoid arthritis, but what is it and how does it really effect your body?
Neurotoxin is defined as any substance that is capable of causing damage to nerves or nerve tissue. Although doctors and dentists alike will try to sell you the importance of it, thanks to this information from even the most prestigious medical journals, we now know that we are ingesting something that is in the same classification as arsenic.
“A meta-analysis of 27 cross-sectional studies of children exposed to fluoride in drinking water, mainly from China, suggests an average IQ decrement of about seven points in children exposed to raised fluoride concentrations,” noted the authors, Dr. Philippe Grandjean of the Harvard School of Public Health and Dr. Philip Landrigan of New York’s Icahn School of Medicine.
“Our very great concern is that children worldwide are being exposed to unrecognized toxic chemicals that are silently eroding intelligence, disrupting behaviors, truncating future achievements and damaging societies, perhaps most seriously in developing countries,” added the authors, warning of various issues associated with exposure to such substances including autism, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, and other learning disabilities.
As awakened individuals, we know that knowing is only half the battle, so what can you do to protect yourself from any further damage?
1. Avoid canned food items and tinned fish
Two simple rules of thumb here. One, if it comes natural from a plant eat it. If it's manufactured at a plant -Don't. Two, if you're great grandmother wouldn't recognize it as food - don't eat it.
The problem comes from the fact that many of these manufactured food-like products are made with tap water which is well known to contain fluoride.
2. Stop drinking fluoridated drinks
Stop drinking tap water. It's the easiest way that most of us are getting this substance into our body.
Instead, invest in a water filter to help get some of it out of the stuff you're putting into your body. Not all filters get fluoride out, so you'll want to invest in one that works. The three types of filters that can remove fluoride are reverse osmosis, deionizers (which use ion-exchange resins), and activated alumina. They won't take out all of the fluoride (only about 90%), but it's better than any other alternatives.
Also, limit the amount of black/ red teas you are drinking, and if you purchase a bottled drink make sure it contains water using one of the methods mentioned.
3. Make your own toothpaste
